Where to buy?

I get so many questions on where I get my underwear. Growing up, I didn't really have a source; my mother bought it for me and then later I just stopped by Wal-Mart or Target and got the regular packs of Hanes and Fruit of the Loom (not that there's anything wrong with that! I'll go over it in a future post). I looked for more and more options through the years, and now I have a couple of mainstays that I visit almost every day to check for deals, as well as a few others. The brands I mentioned in the previous Top 4 Brands have their own sites that I visit as well.

Cheap Undies

Cheap Undies is a great site if you want decent underwear in all styles, including jockstraps! And since they carry all sorts of brands, you're guaranteed to find something above a 36 inch waist. Their stock comes from all sorts of designers, from known fashion brands to unknown brands making their mark. Worth mentioning is that they also carry sexy underwear for you to show off to your partner, or just for you and your selfies. The unique thing about Cheap Undies is that they have daily discounts on something new each day, so it's worth it to put it in your regular website rotation.

Fresh Pair is a premier underwear shopping site, carrying everything from affordable brands likes Hanes to high fashion brands like Diesel. For big guys, they have a big and tall section, and the search sidebar makes it easy to browse. The sheer variety that this site offers puts this site above all it's peers, offering all sorts of styles and they also including other innerwear such as socks and t-shirts. They offer free shipping for orders $25 and more and regular run sales.

Amazon

Amazon is also a great choice to shop for big guy underwear, considering they sell everything else. They sell a variety of brands in all sizes and what's great is that they also have a dedicated big and tell section to make your life easier when you search. With Amazon Prime, it's better if you choose Prime products and get the faster shipping and possibly a discount.

Department Stores

You know department stores? Those stores that anchor your local dying mall? Check out the men's underwear sections, they usually have great finds in there! Department stores usually carry high-end premium brands, so while they may be pricey, they're made of higher quality material. These stores also have dedicated big and tall sections for your browsing.

Big Box Retailers

Hey, sometimes you don't need fashionable or premium fabrics. Maybe you just need a few 3-packs just to get you through the week. Stores like Wal-Mart and Target serve a purpose and that's providing affordable underwear available for all sizes. Also, Wal-Mart and Target have exclusive brands (Gildan and Pair of Thieves respectively) that are worth checking out. They don't usually have big and tall sections, but for waistlines 40-50 inches, you should be able to find a pack to your liking.

Top 4 Brands I Would Recommend

If you're on the heavy side, you know there is a struggle to find comfortable underwear, let alone a pair that you would want your date to see if things go your way. After years and years of trying and buying, I have four brands that I religiously buy and would like to share with y'all:

Bear Skn

I completely and utterly stan for this brand, it’s embarrassing. I have a least one of their pairs from each collection, and they get better with each cycle. The material is soft and can used for everyday wear, from lounging around to working out. There is a mesh zone in between each pair for maximum comfort and ventilation. The designers have found a great balance of pure utility and sexy styles and fits, and they look great on any size! All styles, from the briefs to the boxer briefs are designed to fit and accentuate the male form. And the best part? Their sizes go all the way to 6x (58-60 inch waist)!

Uniqlo

Uniqlo is a Japanese retailer and fashion designer, similar to H&M in that their focus is fast-fashion. But what drew my eyes to them was their exceptional men’s basics line, from briefs to boxers. The designs are clean and simple, the fit is great, and they are one of the few retailers from what I’ve seen that have a good range of sizes, even for plus size men, as they go up to 3x (42-45 inch waist). And they’re really affordable and at any given moment, they have can have a multi-buy sale.

American Eagle

Despite an earlier stumble with the "Aerie Man" April Fools prank, American Eagle does at walk their talk when they talk about body positivity. They made a commitment not to retouch their male models in their ad campaigns, and while the models do tend to be on the toned or thin side, the sizes for their clothing does take in account for bigger guys. Their sizes go all the way up to XXXL (48-inch waist), and offer a range of styles to chose from as well. Each style comes in bold colors and fun prints.

2(X)IST

2(X)IST  is a high fashion brand, but did you know they actually started out making men's basics? I'm going to recommend them with a caveat. Their highest size goes up to XL (37-39 inch waist) which doesn't seem like it's a lot but the material is very forgiving and I can fit into 2(X)IST XL products just fine with my 40-42 inch waist. And the good news is that they have the Evolve brand, a line of mass-market products exclusive to Target with sizes going up to 40-42 inches, and they are affordable and come in great designs.

So which brands would you guys recommend? Drop me a comment, and I'll investigate for myself!

Welcome to the Big Guy Underwear Blog

Welcome to the Big Guy Underwear Blog

I'm a little bit of a underwear fanatic. As a kid, I would sneak and ready the weekly Sunday inserts and look though the fashion catalogs just to sneak a peek at the men modeling their underwear. While the pictures were great, and I definitely enjoyed them (wink wink nudge nudge), I felt a pang of sadness. I would never have that bodies that the men have in those advertisements.

As I grew older and got the money to start buying my own clothes, I became at bit of an underwear connoisseur, buying all sorts of underwear in all sorts of styles. But as I bought them, I quickly found out that all brands weren't equal in terms of sizing and fit for big guys. Most of my adult life, I've hovered around size 40-42 inch waist length, with thick thighs and decently-sized rump and most "fashionable" brands only go up to 34-36 inch waist. After years and years of buying and trying, I've had enough.

I want help other plus size fellas find nice-looking, comfortable underwear.Too many big guys are at a loss on what to buy and I want to help. With this blog, I hope to give as much commentary as I can, as well as reviews of underwear and spotlight great brands and designers and the hot guys who wear them.

So thank so much for reading along, I hope you enjoy the blog! I also have a companion tumblr blog The Big Guy Underwear Blog where I showcase men of size being happy and carefree and sexy in their underwear. And please give feedback and suggestions!
